Praying for understanding and mercy

There is much mystery and speculation about prayer. Thoughts such as "Is God listening?" or "Am I worthy enough to be heard?" or how about "What can I ask for?", or "Can I be honest with God?," or  "Should I hide the bad stuff or leave some things out?"Simply, whatever is on your heart to utter in genuineness is all that is needed, for God tenderly receives our pleas. God listens with a ear of non judgement. To many heavy handed people at times make us feel like we are not worthy to even look up to heaven to pray, not so.

Look at how The Lord handled hypocritical men who brought a woman they caught in the act of adultery.I guess they were watching from a window or perhaps in line to have caught her?

John 8:4 "They said to Him, Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act, (was she committing adultery alone or did they just leave the man behind?)

Now Moses, in the law, commands us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?" This they said testing Him,that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscious, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up, and saw no one but the woman, He said to her," Woman where are those accusers of yours?" "Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

King David of Ancient Israel in prayer called out to God and said in Psalm 56:8 "You number my wanderings: Put my tears into Your bottle. Are they not in your book?  When i cry out to You?

When in anguish or sorrow or pain call out to the LORD. He hears and is with you in your pain and suffering as a friend and not as a judge. It's hard when we are in a position that we don't want to be in or one we did not ask to be in! The unpleasant situation tries our patience and strength. We want out, we pray for change and for a way to escape. Often there is a answer, a release, a remedy, a change, often there is not. In the latter we need stamina and perseverance, tools like prayer, singing Psalms, reciting the Bible, prayer teams and other who will stand with us to get us through the situation in victory, overcoming it rather than sub coming to it.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall rap if we do not lose heart. Therefore when we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
