Lies, Deception & Robbery

"satan's calling card is to deceive, weaken and destroy your mind, one gesture at a time."

When Jesus went into the desert and fasted for forty days and nights, afterwards he was famished, satan came to Him to tempt Him because he knew Jesus was hungry.

Not that- being hungry is wrong,it just was not the plan of Jesus to be tempted to do something He did not set His mind on doing outside of His objective of being in the dessert and setting His mind for God plans for Him to come into effect.

Satan is simply trying to dissuade Christ from doing what is His intention. 

Similarity when we are hungry, tired and stressed out, satan comes to tempt us to act at our worst, and do things we have no intention of "wanting" to doing.

Let's take a closer look at how satan approached Jesus the man when He is at a weak point while in the dessert fasting and drawing close to God. 

We often overlook this fact!

that Jesus- the LORD like ourselves,  is met and approached by the villain of life to doubt Himself.

Temptation, as described in Matthew four, shows that Jesus is directly assaulted through His thoughts by satan at a weak point in His day, due to the fact that He was very hungry and tired.

The story begins by Jesus being taken into the dessert by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil.And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights implying He has been in the dessert during the day and night in complete heat, and in complete darkness of the night, and possibly encountered animals and situations that where stressful.

"Let's say there was no bed and breakfast around to check into."

Hoping to tempt Him to doubt Himself in His state of weakness, the devil asks Jesus to question His authority and power by provoking Jesus to break His fast and attempts to sabotage Jesus decision to fast for forty days and nights. But notice that it is written that the tempter came after His forty day fast was done. Then what really is at play if the devil enticed Him to eat food? Did Christ not do His time- what is really being implied here. What was Jesus waiting for before He decided to eat, and what was wrong with giving Himself something to eat- can be a question to ponder on?

First Scenario

Jeering Christ, the devil says to the LORD...

• "If You are the son of God, command these stones become bread." 

Jesus does not blow up at the devil just yet, nor does he go into a pity party of self doubt and anxiety. Feeling sorry for Himself and thinking

" I AM hungry!  Rather, Jesus answers.

• "It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."    

• Moral of the story- make sure that its not the devil making you do things but God.

Second Scenario

 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ' He shall give His angels charge concerning you,' and, ' in their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash Your foot against a stone. 

The devil is tempting Jesus to kill himself, by throwing Himself down a cliff. This thought came through His spirit and mind but it was the devil's voice.

Right away though tired and hungry and possibly cold- immediately knew, He was being coerced into doing something that was wrong and quickly answered.

"It is written again, ' You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'

Moral Story make sure to understand that killing yourself is not a God idea but satan who is a destroyer of your soul.

Third Scenario

Again, the devil is persistent in getting its ugly and demeaning way, and took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and he said to Him, " All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."

Then Jesus said to him, 

"Away with you, satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve."

Moral of the Story the destroyer tempts each of us with material possession and the pride of life.

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angles came and ministered to Him.

1. satan is referred to as the father of all lies, deception and all evils.
2. know your enemy and how it operates to trick you.
3. notice when your being tempted through your mind by the way your feeling into compromising your health, relationship with God and family, with God's ten commandments.
4. understand your weak points and be on guard.
5. answer " I reject you satan!"

I Peter 5:8

"Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 

RESIST HIM, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same suffering are experienced by your brother/sisterhood in the world."

Moral of the Story seek God's voice for the direction and purpose of your life,each step of the way!
