God's Temple- Our Bodies
"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple."
1 Corinthians 3:16
Our bodies and what we do with them- is a great concern to humanity? So much harm, pain and suffering is done to the body that for some strange reason we as humans pay no attention to why this is?
We take for granted that we do not deserve nor have to put up with pain or suffering, yet we accept this fate as if it's our lot in life. So much harm is done to human beings. We allow others to hurt us, and we do great damage to ourselves.
Is it possible that this is not the original intent for the person?
Children are abused at a young age, mentally and physically. Teenagers are constantly sexualized through their innocent bodies and abused in most relationships and then old age where we dismiss the aged in various manners leaving the person again and again forlorn and diminished.
What does the above scripture tell us. God is saying stop hurting yourself because I am in you and enduring what you're doing to me inside of you. This scripture of directly tell us that God lives within us. The problem then with all of humanity is that we are not properly connected with the God within us in conversation of mind and conscious. This connection would have us behave and react in ways that love our neighbor and us rather than to plunder and ravage one another.
It's time we reexamine the Word of God.
"Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness."
